These earrings were made from a red plastic toy cap ring collected from the shoreline at Cannon Beach, Oregon. The red color comes directly from the original toy cap material, which was weathered and broken apart by time in the ocean before being reshaped into this pair.
Each earring was cut, smoothed, and sealed to preserve the layered red and pale interior tones created by the original plastic and its exposure to the elements.
