Sanibel Fragments Bolo
This bolo was created from plastic fragments recovered along the shoreline of Sanibel Island, Florida. The piece brings together complementary colors found naturally through weathering and breakage, including peachy orange, teal, black, and red.
Barnacles that had attached themselves to the plastic while it was in the marine environment were intentionally left in place and preserved within the piece.
At the center, faint lettering from a red Solo cup remains visible, partially obscured but still readable.
The fragments were shaped, stabilized, and sealed in resin to preserve surface detail and create a durable, finished surface. The bolo is paired with a black braided cord.
This piece is one of a kind.
