This heart-shaped pendant was made from reclaimed salmon fishing materials recovered from the shoreline at Cannon Beach, Oregon. Encased within the piece are fragments of a pink corky float used in salmon fishing along with pink netting from a spawn bag, both weathered by time in the ocean before being collected and repurposed.
The layered materials create soft pink and red tones throughout the pendant, with the original textures and shapes still visible beneath the polished surface.
